'Excellent condition' is the most common grade for a well-loved luxury watch — and often the best value in the secondary market. An excellent piece shows light wear marks on close inspection: hairline scratches on the case and bracelet, possibly a few tiny dings on a brushed surface, but with the original case geometry intact (no excessive polishing) and the dial and hands undamaged. The watch runs accurately, water resistance has been recently tested, and the movement is in clean serviceable condition. Box and papers may or may not be included; we disclose explicitly. Many of our most repeat customers buy at this grade exclusively — a Daytona or Submariner in excellent condition delivers the entire ownership experience at a meaningfully lower price than an unworn or like-new equivalent. The savings versus unworn pricing typically run 15–25% on modern Rolex sport references and 10–15% on Patek and AP.
