How do you grade 'like-new' versus 'excellent'?

Like-new means no visible scratches at arm's length, sharp original case geometry, no bracelet stretch, complete original packaging, and a clean serial number unaltered from factory. Excellent means light wear marks visible on close inspection, sharp original case geometry, minimal bracelet stretch, and box and papers preferred but not required.

Will a like-new watch run within COSC accuracy out of the box?

We test every watch on a timing machine before listing. Modern Rolex movements with the +2/-2 seconds per day Superlative Chronometer rating consistently run inside that tolerance. Modern AP and Patek movements typically run -1/+5 seconds per day, well inside their factory specifications. We disclose timing results in the listing.

Do like-new watches still have the manufacturer warranty?

Often yes, depending on age. Rolex international warranty runs five years from original purchase, so a like-new watch sold within five years of its first sale carries the balance of that warranty. We disclose warranty status in each listing — sometimes the warranty has expired and the watch is sold under our own dealer-backed authentication and condition guarantee instead.

A 'like-new' watch in our inventory has been worn — but lightly, and recently. The case shows no visible scratches at arm's length under normal lighting; the bracelet has no stretch; the bezel insert is sharp; and the watch is sold complete with its original box, papers, hangtags and any accessories that came with the reference. Like-new pieces are the sweet spot for many buyers: they retain virtually all of the visual newness of an unworn watch, but they have been inspected, tested in real-world conditions, and offered at a small but meaningful discount to unworn pricing. The 'full set' qualifier is not a marketing word — for any reference we list as full set, we can produce the original card box, inner box, warranty paperwork or digital certificate, instruction booklets and any model-specific accessories (bezel removal tool for some Submariner references, original strap for chronographs, etc.). Box-and-papers status meaningfully affects future resale, so paying a small premium for full-set like-new condition is almost always the right call.
